Skype Set To Discontinue It App On Older Versions Of Android, Windows and iOS Devices

Recently, Whatsapp has it  that, it will discontinue it Messenger app for Blackberry and Symbian OS coming December 2016. It's really a sad news for these OS users.

Anyway, Skype is here saying they'll be discontinuing their App for older versions of Android operating system, Windows operating system and iOS operating system coming October 2016. To be specific according to source, the below versions of operating system will be disconnected from using Skype.
  • Android OS 4.0.2 and below
  • Older versions of iOS below iOS 8
  • Windows Phone 8.1 and below

The reason why Skype is discontinuing it app from these older versions of operating system is because they have a transition from a peer-to-peer based architecture to a cloud based one. This transition has led to the introduction of new features such as video calling and improved account security to the most recent versions of Skype.

This is also a sad news though but i still don't think people still use Android phones below v4.0. Be as it may, if you find yourself using any of the above listed versions of operating system, you need to upgrade your phone or buy a new one if you still want to use Skype again.
