You Will Start Paying a Transaction Fee on MTN Share n Sell Service

Starting from 31st of January 2017, you will start paying for transaction fee on any Airtime transfer initiated to other MTN customer. MTN Share 'n' Sell service has been free for so many years since its launched, seems the present economic meltdown in Nigeria is already affecting MTN.

It's sad to say that MTN Share 'n' Sell service that has been free for so many years will no longer be free, it will be attracting a small fee for a successful transaction.

Below is the text message MTN sent to their subscribers;
“Dear Customer, please be informed that Share n Sell transactions will attract applicable transfer fee, effective January 31, 2017”

I still don't see reasons why MTN should attach a transaction fee on any Airtime transfer initiated to other subscriber on that same network. It's un-heard. Anyway, what's your say on this?
