Samsung Taken Over Opera Max VPN as Samsung Max VPN

The popular Opera Max VPN that was launched in 2016 has been renamed to Samsung Max and made exclusively for only Samsung devices. What this means is that, Samsung Max is specially made for Samsung devices.

If you try to use other phones like iTel, Nokia, Infinix, Motorola, LG etc to download the app from Playstore, you will get a message like "your device is not compatible with this version".

Samsung has redesigned the VPN app in terms of UI as well as added new features. Samsung had it that Samsung Max is offered as an exclusive and unique service that sets Samsung devices apart from the rest of the smartphones in the market. It is specifically targeted at their mid-range devices.

In August 2017, Opera announced its official discontinuation of the VPN which you can read here. Although if you already have the VPN installed on your phone, you can still use the service free of charge. The VPN helps you save data as well as protect your privacy on the internet.

In a nutshell, Samsung has officially taken over Opera Max VPN and says the VPN will be pre-installed on all Galaxy A and Galaxy J series smartphones in some countries. These include: India, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.
