Swype Keyboard Has Been Discontinued, Nuance Confirmed

Swype keyboard that has been working perfectly for years has been discontinued. The keyboard app was one of the best Android keyboard app of its time but a paid one on Playstore.

This information was confirmed by the developers of the app -- Nuance Communications Inc -- that Swype is no longer under development.

In 2013, Swype for Android arrived on Playstore, though it's still available on Playstore. You can get the app while you can.

A user on Reddit recently emailed the developers about a bug, but received the following response:
Nuance will no longer be updating the Swype+Dragon keyboard for Android. We’re sorry to leave the direct-to-consumer keyboard business, but this change is necessary to allow us to concentrate on developing our AI solutions for sale directly to businesses. We hope you enjoyed using Swype, we sure enjoyed working with the Swype community.

A user on XDA Developers site also emailed Nuance, and the company confirmed it was ending development of Swype keyboard.

  3. Swype keyboard is good for the little time I used it on my phone but disconnecting on Google play should not be the solution
