ZTE to Build Airtel Nigeria's 4G LTE Network

Airtel has officially announced a plan to partner with Chinese firm, ZTE, to build their own 4G LTE network in Nigeria. If you have been waiting patiently for Airtel to launch their own 4G LTE network, then wait a bit, as Airtel is partnering with ZTE company to launch their 4G LTE service.

Airtel became the first telecoms operator in the country to complete a successful 4G trial in Lagos, yet is the last to deploy. Last year, 2016, other big competitors like MTN, Glo and Etisalat launched their own 4G LTE network, leaving people wondering what Airtel is waiting for to launch their own 4G LTE service.

Before now, we have existing 4G LTE providers in Nigeria which includes but not limited to Ntel, MTN, GLO, Etisalat, InterC, Smile, Spectranet and Swift. As we all know, 4G LTE is a global mobile standard that delivers broadband internet to supported smartphones, tablets, USB modems and MiFi devices.

For now, there's no official date of how long the building of their 4G LTE network will take. Atleast, we should have it in mind that Airtel 4G LTE is on the way coming, even if it's not coming soon.
