Airtel NG Officially Rolled out 4G LTE Service, See Speed Test




Airtel Nigeria 4G LTE is now available and live in Ibadan. Although some users has been noticing the 4G LTE network popping up on their phone in some parts of Lagos, Abuja, Port harcourt and Kano.

One of the reasons why most users are seeing the 4G LTE network is because Airtel is running on the same band 3 as 9mobile. So if you use Infinix, Tecno, Gionee that is 4G LTE enabled, then you can use Airtel 4G sim on the phone as most of them support the Band 3 (1800MHz) frequency.

According to a user on Nairaland (seunlayi), he ran a 4G speed test on the network in Ibadan. The download speed was 28.45 Mbps and upload was 8.77 Mbps. As you can see in the screenshot below;

If Airtel 4G LTE network is live in your location, kindly visit any Airtel office nearest to you with your current Airtel SIM and request for a sim swap. After the sim swap, your 4G LTE will be up and you’ll be given 4GB data to test run the new 4G LTE service, as seen below.




HOW TO CONFIRM IF AIRTEL 4G LTE IS AVAILABLE IN YOUR LOCATION

If you want to run a check to see if Airtel 4G network is live in your location, kindly navigate to Settings in your phone > Mobile networksNetwork operators Search networks.

Tap Search networks to initiate a search. After sometime, a list of available networks will be shown to you.
