Snapchat Releases Group Video Chat Feature

Snapchat has just released a new feature called Group Video Chat. This feature allows users to interact more in group chats. According to the company, it makes texting even more fun.

Snapchat is not just a camera filter app, but a platform to chat, send voice notes, video chat and lots more. The new Group Video Chat feature will allow up to 16 people to video chat. If any more join, it will become a voice chat that supports up to 32 people.

We all know that it's not a new feature as other messaging apps like Facebook Messenger added the group video chat years back that allows up to 6 people, while Instagram plans to add voice and video calling feature soon. Currently, Instagram only support live video chat between two people.

The picture below is what the group video calling would look like:

How To Use Snapchat Group Video Chat Feature

To access the feature, you can enter an existing group chat or create a new one. Then tap the video icon to start a group video chat. Each member of that group will be notified and choose whether to join via video or voice.

This video chat update, would be rolling out to users globally in few days to come.
