With this service, customers will be able to carry out some basic banking services on-the-go, such as checking of account balance, opening of account and more other simple banking services.

UBA, in a statement, said its chat banker, Leo, was launched in a pilot mode on WhatsApp and will be fully available to customers by September 1, 2018.

GTBank said it would leverage on the WhatsApp Business Solution to offer Nigerians an additional channel to connect with it for enquiries, service requests and access to other basic banking services.

While First Bank of Nigeria said its WhatsApp chat banking will ensure effective services to the customers. It will enable customers to leverage the real-time messaging capabilities of the WhatsApp Business Solution to check their account balance.
